Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI)Announces its 8th Annual Convention From 15-17 January 2010 At Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh

The Annual Convention of the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) entitled ‘Adventure Tourism – Beyond Himalayas’ is scheduled to be held from 15th to 17th January 2010 at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

Eminent speakers from the adventure field and important government officials from related ministries will be addressing the gathering.

Looking at the changing worldwide outlook towards adventure travel, where it has now become an important part of mainline travel programmes for corporates, incentive movements and training off sites, ATOAI has chosen to theme the upcoming 8th Annual convention as "BEYOND THE HIMALAYA", a step towards showcasing the various facets of adventure.

This year’s convention of ATOAI is planned in Bhopal from January 15-17, 2010. MP Tourism is the official host of this convention. Through this convention ATOTAI aims to create a platform for the fraternity to showcase new destinations, ideate on new opportunities, and provide an environment for investment windows and learning workshops. The convention will also have dedicated time for delegates to share knowledge and attend brain storming sessions in order to deliberate on methods to enhanced efficiency and better infrastructure for the adventure tourism industry.

The convention will not only provide delegates an information source but also have an exhibition space and provide ample networking opportunities for players from all fields of the industry- Adventure Tourism, Ecotourism, Special Interest Tours and Soft Adventure Tourism.

In the words of Mr. Tejbir Singh Anand, President ATOAI, "I am delighted to share with you that since our last convention, our membership base has had significant additions of serious & niche adventure tour operators & this year too we are looking forward to a significant number of members and new members to contributing positively for the success of this convention. At this years convention we at ATOAI, will aim to have a carbon positive "Green" convention and making it yet another meaningful event for the fraternity".

ATOAI was founded with an aim to create awareness about the potential of adventure and eco-tourism in India while encompassing a mélange of activities such as trekking, skiing, biking, mountaineering expeditions; water sports including rafting, scuba diving and sailing; wildlife safaris by camel, jeep, horseback, or elephant; aerial sports such as ballooning, heli-skiing and hand gliding; as well as cultural and tribal tours. Today, ATOAI is a national body comprising 170+ members from across the country, promoting Adventure and Eco Tourism in India.

India is one of the very few countries in the world that boasts natural and cultural attractions so diverse and complex, which promises ample opportunities to explore every kind of landscape imaginable. From the eternal snow-clad peaks of the Himalayas to meandering rivers and gushing waterfalls, dense forests rich in wildlife, beautiful valleys, long coastlines and magical moonscapes, vast deserts of the west, to the ancient traditions and festivities of its colorful culture, offering unique adventures to all travellers.
