In the south-eastern tip of India, on the Bay of Bengal, located between mainland India and the long Burma (Myanmar) coast lies a group of coral islands. The North Andaman, The Middle Andaman, The South Andaman and the Little Andaman along with an assortment of smaller islands. Collectively called the Andaman Islands, their evergreen forest covered hills and unique ecology are a feast for the eyes. In close proximity lies another group of enticing islands. The Nicobar Islands, comprising Great Nicobar, Car Nicobar, Nancowry, Katchal and Chowra. In all the Andaman and Nicobar Islands is a collection of 293 richly forested Tropical islands, only 39 of which are inhabited.
