Access : Access to the park is from the village of Madla, 22 km from Khajuraho.

Introduction Panna National Park has an area of 543 sq km park spreads along the river Ken, 32 km from Khajuraho. Situated in a large, dense forest belt forming the northern fringe of the natural teak forest, the park provides an ideal habitat for the tigers. Alternating valleys and plateaus, grassy maidans, steep gorges and escarpments, down which the waterfalls cascade, present a breathtaking panoramis view. A gharial (crocodile) sanctuary along the river Ken near the spectacular Raneh falls is an added attraction for the tourists. The river attracts a number of avian species. On the road to Panna are the spectacular Pandav falls.

Wildlife Species Panna National Park has many species of wildlife including leopards, spotted deer, langur, monkey, wolf and gharial. Herds of bluebull chinkara and sambar are also common in sight. There are about 22 tigers in the park.

Park Safari Transport within the park is in petrol-driven 'gypsys' only.

Season The cooler months are the best time to visit the Panna National Park, it remains closed during the months of Jun-Oct.
