Announcement of the ATOAI Regional Events!
New Delhi| Date: 05th June 2023
ATOAI is delighted to announce five Regional Events being planned in South, North, North- East, West & Central and East regions. The regional events will be three day events with the first two days for certification in Responsible Adventure Tourism with First Aid, Wilderness First Responder/CPR, safety and responsible field practices for senior adventure guides. The 3rd day will be a combination of two sessions on best practices and selling adventure travel, followed by Adventure Tourism Roadshow with a B2B mart.
The objective for conducting these regional events is to ensure that all ATOAI members across the country get an opportunity to share best practices, network with each other and travel trade and also get their staff members certified in First Aid, CPR and Responsible Adventure Travel. ATOAI also aims at having trained members through these courses to act as honorary wardens for risk mitigation and sustainable adventure travel.
These events will be spearheaded by the Chapter Chairs of each region on the dates mentioned below:
West-Central Region |Chapter Chairman –Mr. Milind Bhide

Southern Region | Chapter Chairman – Mr. Shekhar Babu
Date – 9th August to 11th August 2023
Northern Region |Chapter Chairman – Mr. Vaibhav Kala
8th September to 10th September 2023
Eastern Region | Chapter Chairman – Mr. Amit Periwal
Date – 12th January to 14 January 2024
North – East Region | Chapter Chairman – Mr. Oken Tayeng
Date – 10 February to 12 February 2024

Adventure Tourism is booming in India and ATOAI is keen to ensure that we become global leaders in Responsible Adventure Travel. We are keen to build a close-knit community of adventure tour operators sharing best practices, networking and cooperating with each other and ensuring that we follow ATOAI Safety Guidelines and the Sustainable Tourism Criteria of India in letter and spirit. These regional workshops will be an ideal platform for the adventure travel trade to network with each other and the entire travel fraternity of India.
Ronny Singh Gulati, the honorary secretary of ATOAI is upbeat about bringing the ATOAI events region wise, he says ‘In our endeavour to make India a choice foradventure tourism, we need to make sure that people delivering the last mile are trained and deliver a safe experience for the customers. The regional events, to be held on a regular basis will help in upskilling and training staff members and also help agents know more about the products on offer”
