Rules & regulations

The membership of the Association shall be open to persons of good professional reputation who have been connected with the industry of Tourism/Adventure Tourism or Travel. All applications for membership must be made on the prescribed form and must be proposed by an Active Member and seconded by another active member of the Association. All applications for membership shall be considered by the Executive Committee in a duly convened meeting and approved by a majority of two-thirds of the members present. The Executive Committee may at any time create different classes of members and may provide for entrance fees and subscriptions and define their respective rights and privileges. The Executive Committee shall in special cases have the power to allow any person to become a Member of the ATOAI for such purposes subject to such condition and upon payment of such sum as the Executive Committee shall have power to and may dispense with payment of entrance fees.

Lifetime Member

Lifetime members, which includes some of the founding members, supported the association during it’s fledgling years and helped it become what it is today. In gratitude for their yeoman service, they were given lifetime membership of the association. Applications for lifetime membership are not currently open.

 

Active Member

Active Membership:

Tour operator for a minimum period of one year and is recognized by the Centre Government or State Government as an Adventure Tour Operator or Tour Operator and a part of the activity is the promotion of Adventure Tourism shall be eligible for membership as an Active Member of the Association provided an application is made and accepted by the Executive Committee. The applicant must give the commitment to run the said adventure activity in a responsible, safe, and sustainable manner while adhering to the guidelines laid down by the association from time to time.

 1) Firm name /Registered Address/ Mobile no/ Email-ID/ Landline no.

 2) Company Registration Certificate

 3) Pan card – Proprietor / Company

 4) GST Certificate

 5) ID proof

 6) Recognition from the Ministry of Tourism Centre or State Government as an Adventure Tour Operator or Tour Operator or hold a valid license issued by the State Govt for conducting adventure tourism activities

 7) A go-ahead from the Executive Committee or Chapter Chair

 8) Company Profile

Allied Member

The only criteria to join us as an Allied Member is that you or your company should be in or associated with the Tourism Industry, and have a place of business in India. Allied membership entitles you to
– Have a member page on the Association website
– Showcase your products and services on the Association website and your member page
– Participate in all virtual and in-person events organized by the Association
– Be part of the Whatsapp members group
– Market your business on the WhatsApp group (on designated days)

Documents Required

Media Member

You can enrol as a Media Member if you or your company are associated with print or online media – bloggers, influencers, photographers, filmmakers/videographers, writers, traditional journalists (newspapers, magazines, TV, radio), media companies, and publishing houses.

Associate Member

Any Association who is regularly engaged with the Tourism and Travel Industry in India or outside India such as carrier companies, hotelier, caterers, excursion agents, transport companies shall be eligible to be an Associate Member.

2. Invitation to events including the Annual Convention, Fellowship Dinners, Travel Talks, Exhibitions, and more. (These are either complimentary or offered at special rates)
3. Network and collaborate with over 500 member companies (and growing), representing 30+ verticals of adventure tourism.
4. Opportunities to participate in FAM trips (where there is a fit) organized by ATOAI, travel companies, and partner tourism boards

Documents Required

Institutional Member

State /Union Territories Tourism Board in India or outside India will be offered Institutional Membership.

 

Benefits of an Institutional Membership:-
1. Provide 5 days free consultation to develop certification regulation
2. Conduct workshop for local industry
3. Customize the ATOAI guidelines for your state
4. Twice a year, the state tourism board can make a presentation to the ATOAI members and spread knowledge about new products over a physical or virtual meet.
5. Roadshow which states can host with local stakeholders for the destination

 

Professional/ Individual

Any individual associated with outdoor and adventure travel, or having experience in adventure travel/sports, or with accomplishments in the outdoor space, living in India or outside India can apply for Professional/Individual Membership.

DOCUMENT REQUIRED:-

Proof of Certification /Training (Such as Professional Guide Certificate or Completion of Mountaineering Course)

Or

Letter of Recommendation from 3 Active Members.
